Dan is the lead interior designer at Carmel Color House and loves to design dream homes through his creative and passionate talents and his aim to delight clients. He earned a Bachelor’s in history and business from California at Berkeley in 1990. He has spent 30 years in the corporate world, holding various leadership positions in the consumer packaged goods and agricultural industries. Dan is also a championship home chef, having placed sixth and top three in the world, respectively, in 2022 and 2023 at the World Food Championships, the largest food sports competition in the world. When not designing homes for clients, he hosts a farm-to-table docuseries called Bringing It to the Table, giving a much-needed voice to the farmer.

Sara completed her education as a counselor from Bethany University in 2008. She quickly shifted direction to follow her passion and natural talent in design and home décor. Sara now has an extensive background in furniture, textiles, merchandising, and all aspects of sales and business management. With a combined 14+ yr background working with furniture and rugs, Sara has freelanced as a design consultant for the last 10 yrs. Utilizing her eye for color, she is lead buyer for Carmel Color House. This project is the fulfillment of her long held desire to help people overcome their hesitation about embracing color, and discover their own design skills.

Erkan Demir began his life as an entrepreneur at the age of 22, opening his first carpet business in Istanbul, Turkey. It was the first of many successful businesses to be spearheaded by Erkan. He has opened successful carpet businesses in Sweden, Turkey and in the US. Erkan is also a self taught shoe and fashion designer, having owned his own manufacturing businesses from 2006 to 2021. Erkan has worked with carpets and home design all throughout his career, always counting it as his first passion, despite his varied interests. Today Erkan is still operating his carpet shop, Artemis Rugs, just a stones throw away from Carmel Color House. Artemis Rugs is located on the same block in Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA and has been in the same location for 13+ years. Erkan believes that Carmel Color House is a natural extension of his carpet business and the joy he finds in sharing his carpets with the world.
